The Opportunity
This is a highly structured, data-driven drafting role for an operational professional who excels at precision, digital modeling, and maintaining high engineering accuracy throughout the design phase.
As a CAD Specialist, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and design documentation to support engineering accuracy and project execution. You will manage blueprint updates, model system layers, and refine architectural and engineering plans to eliminate structural errors. Working closely with project engineers and executive leadership in Australia, you will establish the drafting frameworks needed to scale project delivery and ensure seamless cross-team collaboration.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design Documentation & Modeling
• Plan Development: Develop detailed, scaled 2D technical drawings, multi-layered layouts, and comprehensive 3D design plans.
• Drawing Revision: Implement rapid, precise updates and revise complex drawings based on direct structural or engineer feedback.
• Technical Drafting: Convert raw concepts, site sketches, and engineering data into organized, ready-to-use digital assets.
Compliance & Technical Quality
• Standards Enforcement: Ensure total compliance with relevant technical standards, drafting protocols, and building presentation rules.
• Clash Detection: Audit spatial layouts and cross-reference system elements to identify design gaps or overlapping structures.
• Asset Maintenance: Manage a clean, structured directory of standard design components, blocks, and shared drawing templates.
Team Synchronization & Support
• Internal Data Sync: Maintain accurate drawing registers, revision histories, and file packages across shared internal project spaces.
• Real-Time Sync: Work in total alignment with Australian time zones (AEST/AWST) to deliver quick design updates and immediate drafting support.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Experience: ~2–4 years of dedicated experience as a CAD Specialist, Draftsperson, CAD Technician, or Technical Illustrator.
• Ecosystem Mastery: Practical, hands-on experience navigating and configuring specialized design toolchains inside platforms like AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or MicroStation.
• Analytical Aptitude: Strong comfort monitoring business metrics, parsing user usage data, and translating customer feedback into clear system improvements.
• Process Engineering: Exceptional organization skills with a love for building step-by-step checklists, automation rules, and internal resource files.
• Soft Skills: Superior written and verbal English communication skills, high empathy-driven problem-solving habits, and absolute calm when addressing client bottlenecks.
