The Opportunity
This is a highly structured, data-driven financial management role for an operational professional who loves optimization and streamlining accounting workflows after transactions are captured.
As an Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for delivering robust financial visibility, detailed ledger analytics, and end-of-month reporting audits. You will manage ledger reconciliations, build month-end automation paths, and monitor financial metrics to eliminate reporting friction points. Working closely with corporate finance directors and executive leadership in Australia, you will establish the compliance systems needed to scale financial clarity and business lifetime value.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Ledger Optimization & Trial Balance Management
• Trial Balance Management: Refine post-transaction trial balance matching, account reconciliations, and communication workflows to ensure a fast, clear start.
• Ledger Management: Oversee support queues for ledger adjustments, organize journal entry priorities, and build standard operating procedures for general ledger maintenance.
• System Automation: Build automated reporting rules, journal triggers, and tracking parameters within the accounting software to ensure no financial detail falls through the cracks.
Month-End Auditing & Tax Compliance Loops
• Month-End Close: Manage and evaluate month-end close schedules, balance sheet schedules, and report preparations to identify structural financial trends.
• Compliance Diagnostics: Monitor regulatory updates, identify ledger accounts showing low data alignment, and flag at-risk compliance configurations to managers.
• BAS Documentation Support: Organize Business Activity Statement (BAS) records and tax schedules to support account management teams during quarterly lodgment and tax compliance discussions.
Team Synchronization & Support
• Internal Data Sync: Maintain accurate financial records, audit notes, and fiscal milestones across shared internal project spaces.
• Real-Time Alignment: Work in absolute alignment with Australian time zones (AEST/AWST) to provide fast system responses during key business hours.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Experience: ~2–4 years of experience in Corporate Accounting Operations, Financial Reporting, General Ledger Management, or Technical Accounting Support Operations.
• Ledger Ecosystem Mastery: Practical, hands-on experience navigating and configuring service tool chains inside platforms like Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or corporate ERP frameworks.
• Analytical Aptitude: Strong comfort monitoring business metrics, parsing financial data, and translating ledger feedback into clear system improvements.
• Process Engineering: Exceptional organization skills with a love for building step-by-step checklists, tax audit rules, and internal accounting resource files.
• Soft Skills: Superior written and verbal English communication skills, high empathy-driven problem-solving habits, and absolute calm when addressing client bottlenecks.
WHY THIS ROLE
• The Blueprint for Scale: Take ownership of the operational framework that protects recurring revenue and maintains client happiness for growing Australian firms.
• Frictionless Remote Model: Work inside a highly structured remote framework backed by reliable tracking utilities, account support, and smooth internal workflows.
• Operational Sophistication: Deepen your technical operations expertise by managing complex B2B accounting architectures and modern customer lifetime value mechanics.
