The Opportunity
This is a highly structured, data-driven pre-construction role for an analytical professional who excels at precision, technical takeoffs, and maximizing profitability before any work begins.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost projections and material assessments for efficient project planning. You will manage quantitative takeoffs, build itemized cost breakdowns, and streamline the bidding process across construction, civil, structural, or electrical systems projects. Working closely with project managers and executive leadership in Australia, you will establish the pricing accuracy needed to scale winning tenders and protect project margins.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Cost Projections & Material Assessments
• Material Quantifying: Perform granular digital takeoffs to quantify materials, specialized components, and labor requirements from plans.
• Cost Breakdowns: Prepare detailed, itemized cost breakdowns, financial budgets, and comprehensive estimation reports.
• Blueprint Analysis: Read, interpret, and evaluate technical drawings, architectural plans, layouts, or system schematics.
Bidding & Procurement Support
• Tender Preparation: Convert raw takeoff data into professional, client-ready proposals to support competitive bidding processes.
• Procurement Support: Review supplier quotes and establish clear scopes of work to streamline purchasing decisions.
• Database Maintenance: Maintain an accurate internal directory of supplier material rates and historical cost data.
Team Synchronization & Support
• Internal Data Sync: Maintain accurate project estimation records, notes, and revisions within shared internal project spaces.
• Real-Time Sync: Work in total alignment with Australian time zones (AEST/AWST) to provide real-time support and fast response times.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Experience: ~2–4 years of experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or Costing Specialist in construction, services, or trades.
• Technical Takeoffs: Strong hands-on proficiency in performing digital takeoffs and navigating measurement software.
• Analytical Aptitude: Strong comfort monitoring business metrics, parsing user usage data, and translating customer feedback into clear system improvements.
• Process Engineering: Exceptional organization skills with a love for building step-by-step checklists, automation rules, and internal resource files.
• Soft Skills: Superior written and verbal English communication skills, high empathy-driven problem-solving habits, and absolute calm when addressing client bottlenecks.
WHY THIS ROLE
• The Blueprint for Scale: Take ownership of the operational framework that protects recurring revenue and maintains client happiness for growing Australian firms.
• Structured Ecosystem: Work within an organized remote framework backed by reliable tracking utilities, supportive account management, and clear internal systems.
• Operational Sophistication: Deepen your technical operations expertise by managing complex B2B support architectures and modern customer lifetime value mechanics.
