Front-End Designer

The Opportunity

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on development role for a front-end specialist who bridges the gap between static design layouts and interactive, responsive digital experiences.

As a Front-End Designer, you will turn complex UI mockups into clean, functional code while keeping site speed and user experience at the forefront of everything you do. You will work closely with digital strategists and creative design teams to build user interfaces that are beautiful, accessible, and highly optimized for speed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

UI Development & Framework Mastery

• Design Translation: Translate high-fidelity Figma workspace projects, prototypes, and wireframes directly into clean, semantic code.
  
• Interface Engineering: Develop highly responsive user interfaces using modern framework libraries such as React and Next.js.
  
• Component Building: Create reusable, modular UI components to ensure consistency across web layouts and digital products.

Performance & Optimization

• Web Vitals Focus: Audit, track, and actively optimize site performance, focusing closely on Google Core Web Vitals.
  
• Speed Tuning: Implement asset optimization techniques—including code splitting, image compression, and lazy loading—to achieve lightning-fast loading speeds.
  
• Cross-Platform Check: Ensure all visual elements render flawlessly across different browsers and mobile devices.

Collaboration & Workflow

• Agency Alignment: Integrate directly into Australian agency workflows, collaborating daily via tools like Slack, ClickUp, or Jira.
  
• Real-Time Sync: Sync completely with Australian time zones (AEST/AWST) for real-time adjustments and zero communication delays.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience: ~2–4 years of dedicated front-end development experience, ideally working within a digital marketing or web development agency.
  
• Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in semantic HTML5, modern CSS3 (including frameworks like Tailwind CSS or Sass), and modern JavaScript.
  
• Framework Familiarity: Practical, hands-on experience building layouts within React and Next.js environments.
  
• Figma Fluency: Deep comfort navigating Figma to extract CSS properties, image assets, typography rules, and layout dimensions.
  
• Optimization Eye: Strong knowledge of performance-budget tuning, asset delivery networks, and mobile-first design principles.
  
• Soft Skills: A keen eye for visual detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and clear English communication skills.
