The Opportunity

This is a hands-on web development role for a WordPress expert who loves building clean, high-performance sites while continuously refining their technical capabilities.

As a WordPress CMS Specialist, you will take ownership of full website builds, custom templates, and routine optimization pipelines. You will work closely with Australian agency owners and creative departments, translating design files into flawless, mobile-optimized web experiences that load fast and remain highly secure.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Development & Customization

• Build & Deploy: Execute end-to-end WordPress website builds and develop custom, reusable page templates.
  
• Design Translation: Work with visual builders (Elementor, Divi) and standard frameworks to turn design layouts into highly functional pages.

• Mobile First: Ensure all web layouts are flawlessly responsive and fully optimized for mobile devices.

Maintenance & Performance

• Site Health: Handle routine security maintenance, core updates, and critical plugin management to minimize downtime.
  
• Speed Optimization: Audit and improve website loading speeds, asset delivery, and basic performance metrics.
  
• Troubleshooting: Identify, debug, and resolve theme conflicts, broken scripts, or layout shifts swiftly.

Agency Collaboration

• Real-Time Sync: Work in direct alignment with Australian time zones (AEST/AWST) for seamless daily collaboration.
  
• Workflow Integration: Integrate directly into client communication loops (Slack, ClickUp, or Jira) to provide transparent project updates.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience: ~2–4 years of dedicated experience building and managing WordPress sites, ideally within an agency environment.
  
• Builder Mastery: Solid, practical expertise using page builders like Elementor and Divi, alongside standard WP frameworks.
  
• Technical Underpinnings: Strong foundational knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and how plugins interact with WordPress cores.
  
• Optimization Eye: Good understanding of mobile-responsive design principles and site speed best practices.
  
• Soft Skills: Clear English communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage project deadlines independently.
